Engine Terms
- CC: Cubic centimeters, engine displacement
- Bore: Diameter of the cylinder
- Stroke: Distance piston travels
- Compression Ratio: Ratio of cylinder volumes
- HP: Horsepower, engine power output
- Torque: Rotational force, measured in Nm or lb-ft
- RPM: Revolutions Per Minute, engine speed
Chassis Terms
- Wheelbase: Distance between wheel centers
- Rake: Fork angle from vertical
- Trail: Distance from steering axis to ground contact
- Seat Height: Distance from ground to seat
- Ground Clearance: Distance from ground to lowest point
- Wet Weight: Weight with fluids and fuel
- Dry Weight: Weight without fluids
Performance Terms
- 0-60 mph: Acceleration time
- Top Speed: Maximum speed
- Fuel Economy: MPG or L/100km
- Power-to-Weight: Horsepower per unit weight
Suspension Terms
- Travel: Suspension movement range
- Fork: Front suspension assembly
- Shock/Monoshock: Rear suspension
- Preload: Initial spring compression
- Damping: Resistance to movement
